too old to rock?

hey now. im mike and im 55 yrs. young. and i want to learn to tear up on the bass! i play a little guitar and was wondering if i should stay with a pick or learn the finger method.and are there advantages to both styles?thanks for any advise

Yeah, keep the pick but learn fingerstyle as well. ya might as well learn slap & pop too. More colors for your paintbox

I never could get a handle on the pick. The things roll around in my fingers and I end up dropping 'em anyway. A lot of engineers prefer to record pick style.

styles

i play with a pick or finger...i enjoy both.
but when you want to rock out then grab a pick and go...

i think now i actually like my thumb. is this a bad habit? or does anyone out there use their thumb almost exclucivly?
