I'm mostly a trumpet player (amateur mind you) and currently play in a ska/reggae band, but I've always been attracted to the bass, and to any other instrument for that matter (although I only really had mitigated success with the guitar and the bass).
About 10 years ago, I bought a bass from a university friend (a girl bass player too!). It was (and still is) an ugly cheap plain red Samick.
After a few months, it stopped working. I kept it, but didn't play much.
So here I am, 10 years later, in my house, without an amp/cab, with a bass that doesn't work, without even a neck strap. he he he
But I want to start playing again, so here goes.
I'm practicing without an amp... and having fun.
My fellow trombone player in the band happens to be a guitar repairman and offered to have a look a look at the ugly thing.
So I'm on the look for a strap, an amp/cab, and maybe even another bass.
Who knows.
