I am of course new, and just stumbled on this site. I have been trying to teach myself to play for some time now (don't ask I'm ashamed as it is) with out much luck. I've found more knowledge here than anywhere else I've looked so far, and I haven't even gotten past the welcome forum yet. I think I found my new favorite place on the web.
