Upright Bass Anyone?

Hi everyone,

I just found out how to use this forum. Anyway, I'm a jazz/latin/classical player. Could someone give me some pointers regarding how to choose my bass. What wood to look for, the best strings for the sound, flat or round back, etc? Any kind of information would be so very much appreciated. Thank you!
