What strings to use?

I just bought a dean 09 bass, the strings could be better, anyone have any ideas on a smoother texture string easier on the fingers?

the elixir strings rock, last for ages too. great tone. but i guess, the ernie ball slinky strings are really easy to play on?

strings

DR Lo=Rider 2Funks are awesome...great deep tone, elixers work really well too but i sometimes think the price is too high....they last a long time but i'm not sure that the tone matches the price....i would rather use a great sounding string that is cost effective than a good sounding string that lasts forever and costs 40 dollars
