Greetings fellows musicians. I am a multi-instrumentist. I mainly play guitar and slide guitar but I am also a Bassist as I'm sure many of you are also guitar players. Now don't get me wrong I am not one of these guitar guys who thinks playing bass is a constant solo. When I play Bass I am a bassist and I think like one, Just like when I play drums, mandolin, Harmonica or guitar. (In fact I do alot of my song writing on the Bass.) You have to understand the instrument you are playing if you want to make the "Band" sound good. Some of my favorite Bassists were also guitar players most notibly the Late Allen Woody and the Late Berry Oakley. I love the way those dudes would play in the pocket and make the bass really musical. My all time favorite bass player is Francis Rocco Prestia of Tower of Power. The man invented his own fingering with 16th note runs that just amaze me. I also like Stanley Clark,Jack Bruce, Felix Pappalardi, Victor Wooten, Abraham Laboriel and Otiel Burbridge. I hope to find a lot of interesting stuff on this site. It seems pretty cool so far.
