Hi. I just started playing bass about a month and a half ago, and it's been a very interesting adventure so far.
It's been a bit of a rocky road since my hands are rather small and I'm learning on my own, but lots of the stuff I read in this forum is helpful. I got into bass because
1. I'm sort of addicted to instruments (this is my fourth)
2. my primary instruments are soprano voiced, and I wanted to try something at the lower end
3. I wanted to try my hand at hard rock, especially writing that integrates some really deep and unusual music theory stuff, from the perspective of a bass player
4. I was really inspired by a band called Orgy, especially the guitar synth player Amir Derakh, and I wanted to get into some bass synth stuff at some point.
