Hey y'all,

I just discovered this new forum after bringing home my first G&L 5-string custom blueburst and visiting some related websites. Basically, this new bass had a buncha knobs & switches and no instructions - sheesh, I guess I was already s'posed to know how to use 'em... Thank goodness for the G&L website with the downloadable instructions!

I learned how to play on an original purchase '72 Jazz Bass with a beautiful golden sunburst finish, ashtray, etc. that I had to sell in college when I was down on my luck and no money to pay the rent..

I replaced it with a remake many years later and now have 3 basses to play with!

I use vintage Peavey amps from the early 1970's for that classic sound, and I'm "anchor man" of a small combo here in the Dallas, TX metroplex. Weesa havin' fun!

Hey there. I'm new to the bass (roughly a year and half) and I also have a G&L (L-2000 Trib 4 string). All the switches were a bit intimidating at first, but it's a wonderful bass. Waiting on delivery of my first fretless - SX Jazz. Having a good time, and getting lotsa info from the TalkBass Forums. It's a slow process learning to play, but it's great.
Have fun.
