You gotta be kidding, another noob?
I played trombone through high school, after which I picked up playing bass. I played for about 12 years or so before I gave it up for various reasons, two being a move out of state where there was no room for all that gear, and dealing with guitar players.
I took a job in the tactical gear industry where I've been since 2004. I do a little (or a lot) of everything: raw materials purchasing, social media management, customer service with technical questions, product photography, website maintenance, advertising and marketing, contract bidding, and other duties as assigned. Yeah, try fitting all that on business cards.
Because most of my friends are military and get deployed for rather long periods of time, I have a fair amount of time after work to invest in something. Over the past couple of weeks I've been bitten by the music bug, and went searching for a bass again, finding a solid deal on a GSR 200. I'm not sure where exactly I expect to go with this again, but I'm happy to be back into playing...even though I lost every little bit of skill I had from that long layoff. I'm bassicly starting over from scratch.
