You Never Can Tell

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and a novice player with a bit of a problem, hope someone can help.
I'm an aged bassist with a bluegrass band that has a gig this weekend and I'm singing Chuck Berry's 'You Never Can Tell'. Despite the fact there are only two chords in it I'm having trouble getting a bass line that is easy to play so I can concentrate on the singing. You can tell from the question how much of a novice I am!

Of all the versions of the song I've heard I like Ronnie Lane's the best, you can see this on youtube.

Thanks

PS I'm playing electric bass

Welcome to TalkBass.

It's always hard to sing and play bass at the same time. Hope you did OK at your gig.
