I have mine wired to make this possible- and some of my favorite tones are with both pickups in different coil configurations (maybe just because I can

). It basically just requires getting rid of the pickup selector switch to free up a hole for a different switch (I made my volume a stacked neck/bridge volume to compensate), and then some slight rewiring. If you want to add a single coil mode, you'll have to buy an on-on-on DPDT switch to replace the current on-on 4PDT coil switcher. You could use the pickup selector switch as the neck coil switch, as its already a 3 way DPDT switch. There is a diagram written up by DavePlaysBass somewhere that shows how to rewire an L2000 into whatever coil configuration your heart desires... I'm sure you could find a link to it if you searched this forum.

That raised a question for me... Has anyone set up an L2K or ASAT that way. Or with the neck single coil and the bridge parallel? I am curious what the simplest way would be to add switching to either to have P/S switching for each PU individually, or to have the standard controls with the option of switching the neck pickup to P/S.
