Any word on the JB from namm?

Has anyone played the new G&L Jazz Bass or know when they are coming out? Saw these in the 'namm thread' and got pretty excited!

I have been in the market for a Jazz bass lately but Fender prices have been heading north, I have never had a G&L but definately would like one and I just cant warm up to the looks of the JB-2 (Vanity, I know). I think that the JB would solve these problems for me as I like G&L quality but also love the looks of a traditional jazz.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I am assuming that the sound would be pretty close to a Fender jazz as those look like garden variety alnico pups as opposed to MFD's.

If they make white with tort and rosewood my wallet will be getting lighter guaranteed!

Anyone????

Nobody has heard anything?

I know I know they look like Fend*** and don't have MFD's but I would like to own a nice Jazz bass at some point and would prefer to own one that has G&L on the headstock.

I called a large G&L dealer and they checked with G&L and made sure they were going ahead with it. They said go ahead and place an order on the JB now G&L will make it.
I with hold the dealers name but their price was $1275 with standard orders. I read that G&L for limited time was doing free gloss and or gun oil neck finishes on new orders right now!!

And with Fender's American Standard Jazz selling for $1,499 at Sam Ash et al., $1,275 for a G&L version is a steal.

.. That equates to like, 2/3 grand aus. after all the middle men and dollar exchange.

Here's another video that you get a bit better of a look at them considering the last video

I have a few on order. They should be in relatively soon.

Screw the middle man. Buy directly from US and add 100 or so bucks for postage.
Exchange rate, well we'll have to live with that one.

That's what I did with my trib. L2000 (Saved so much..and I love the bass), but right now I'd rather try and find the bass that has the perfect feel to it as well.
