in a music shop here in Lisbon there's a asat bass for sale.so far so good, but my doubt is it says tribute in real small letters in the headstock.does that mean what?it's a Japanese tribute series bass?i'm asking cause i thing the guys that work there are not playing with the whole deck you know?they are saying it's a G&L
they also ask like 1000euros(that's a bit over 1000usd)is that a fair price?
thanks for the help guys |

I've never heard of an asat tribute. Does it really say asat and tribute on the headstock? Maybe an asat body with a tribute neck from an L2000 or JB2? |

thanks for the help guys | I bolded the most likely option. If I'm not mistaken, the G&L's for the Japanese market have been using the "Tribute" moniker long before we (the US) began getting the imports. I have no idea about quality/parts/etc.

I'm just wondering because my ASAT was very cheap, but looks more like the MIJ than the MIA models on that site. I don't think it says Tribute anywhere though.

The only ASAT Tribute is made in Japan and while I have never seen one, see this Ebay auction a a MIJ Tribby SB-2
Tell tale non USA things that would probably be on the Japanese ASAT also....
4 bolt skunk stripe neck..
Logo...
Non USA, non other Tribby tuners..
Doesn't anybody know anybody in Japan that can get pics fer pete's sake?
