For an alternative strap position. 7 38.89%
They look cool. 0 0%
To add a smidgeon of extra weight there to offset neck dive. 6 33.33%
So the bass won't tip over when leaning against an amp etc. 5 27.78%

Nah, somebody attached the drill template incorrectly and they had to drill two holes. They've just continued the practice so that nobody would suspect that the first one made was a mistake.
