I play mostly guitar, but have always had a bass around. (Used to play bass before I transitioned to guitar in a band way back when I was in my teens). Now I find myself wanting to hook up a bass gig..
Question is, what is a good bass amp for classic rock gigs, something that I won't have any problem filling up a small bar, club or party room with? Probably won't be put thru a PA. I'd like something small that won't break my back when hauling around, and will fit in an Infiniti G35, lol
I have a '98 SB-1 bass with MFDs... |

I gig various styles, and absolutely love my GK 700RBII head with either the Neo 212 or 112 cabinets (and occasionally both!).
Dependable, rock solid, relatively light, and sound fantastic. And if you go through RMC Audio, the price is right.
My '87 SB1 loves my GK gear.

It's an incredibly versatile rig, with fantastic tone. I normally need only one Neo112 cab for bars and small clubs. I'll only use two when I would have previously used my old 4x10, and that was rare. (Since I bought the second Neo112, I haven't played a gig that requires both cabs, but it could cover substantial gigs for sure.)
You should also check out MarkBass gear. Their 1x12 combo with an extension cab would be an excellent option. Genz-Benz also makes good compact heads and cabs. For a single, standalone cab the NeoX 212 is amazing, and would sound great for classic rock. Or, you could save a little money on cabs by going with Avatar, either two 1x12's or perhaps a 2x10 or 2x12. Lots of other options too, but I have at least some experience with MB, GB, and Avatar so I feel comfortable recommending their stuff.

I find it perfect for small to medium rooms. Plenty loud & light enough for one arm. One trip in & one trip out.
Good luck guitardo!

My G&Ls sound like a million bucks through a LMII paired up with 2 Genz Benz NeoX112T or a single NeoX212T. This rig easily fits in my Accord so it will probably fit in your G35 too.

Match say the 112 with a Genz Benz 3.5 Neo.. - might dent the bank account, but wont break it - or your back ;-) |

I run it into a SWR Son of Bertha cabinet (15 w/tweeter), which is just about the smallest 15 inch cab I've seen. Size and portability were a prime consideration when I shopped for a new rig a few years ago, and this fit the bill quite nicely. With the 1001's 700 watts, you'll have headroom to spare in any club-sized room. Shortly after I first got it, I did an outdoor show where another band asked to borrow my amp, so I got to go and hear it from out in the audience - I was amazed at how well it carried the area.
