there is a nice looking '92 on ebay now - is there much difference between old and newer L-1000's?

I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure. I'm happy someone bought it. It makes me feel a lot better about what I gave for my mahogany/ebony version (a lot less). Mine is in amazing shape, compared to that one.
The '81 that sold for $1150 was in super condition with an original case. I'd have loved to buy that one.
I'm not sure if they changed the electronics in the newer versions. I know the pickup pole pieces are different.

I've recently latched onto a '80 and '81 L-1000, both 'hogany both with a fair amount (alot) of player wear - not quite as much as as the recent '80 but they both seem to stand apart from the rest, and I've never met a L-1000 that doesn't sound killer. |
