The first ones from 1980(-81?) have the different pole pieces on the pickups, and I think it was in 1982 that they switched from the skunk-stripe neck to the more stable bi-cut neck. But after 1982, I don't think there were any big changes of that magnitude....

There weren't a lot made '86-'92, as far as I can tell, and I guess BBE didn't have much use for the model, since they discontinued it after their first year of ownership.

The modern re-issues (I think G&L did 'em for BABP) have modern L2K pickups that are a bit hotter than the original L1K's.
