Can anyone answer a stupid question for me? (Lynx content)

There is a Lynx on the bay that I'm currently bidding on for the sole purpose of acquiring the pickups. Would it be the same thing if I just bought two MFD Single Coil bass pickups, or was there any difference in the windings themselves on the old SB-2/Lynx basses? I played an old SB-2 bass with the dual Single Coils and fell in love with the sound, so now I want a bass with that pickup configuration.
