Can a G&L sound like a Wal?

Sign in to disble this ad
Someone said G&L have intense grind.
I've wondered, with the 2 big pickups where they are, active and the bolt-on neck.
Do thay sound anythink like the Wal?
Can you get a Justin Chancellor type sound?
I know nothing about G&L.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I've gotten close- 2K active+ parralel with fresh Ernie Ball Slinkys 45-100 thru a Mesa M-pulse 600 / Powerhouse 410 with the gain ratcheted way up. Grind city and bite like a barracuda, but more of a flavor than a usable tone, as the bottom end gets really blurry and distorted. But that's a YMMV thing...

I don't know what a Wal sounds like but there are a lot of sounds in the L2000.

I remember you saying this a long time ago on another thread...I recently got an L2500 and on certain settings, I can get a Geddy Wal tone (which IMO is the best). Unfortunately, the setting I use to get the Wal tone doesnt work that great in a mix with the band (too much upper mids and treble) YMMV though.
