1) Order a #6 neck from G&L directly.

2) Get said #6 neck

3) Detach my stock neck on my Tribute L2000 (Indonesia-made)

4) Attach the #6 neck

I believe the answer is NO. G&L doesn't sell their necks separately.

G&L sells necks separately. Don't know if the sell the #6, though. However, the answer is still no. Apparently the pocket is different between the Tribs and the USA.

However, Craig B successfully mated a Trib JB2 neck (slim neck) to a Trib L2000. You may have to go that route.

Or do what I did: I sold the Trib L2000 and bought a slim necked Trib SB2. Couldn't be happier.

When I asked about the same thing I was told G&L does not sell necks separately. Instead, you may send them your bass and they would replace it. Also, they may be doing it only for USA G&Ls and not Tributes.
Even if you persuade them to do it, the new neck would cost more than I paid for my Tribute.
My advice, don't bother. Personally, I got so used to the neck of my L2K Tribute that I actually prefer it now to any jazz size neck. Go figure.
