Can someone help me date my L-2000's?

I am trying to figure out what the manufacturing date/year is for both of my L-2000 basses. Here are the serial numbers:

B029674 (# on backplate at neck)
CLF12040 (# on back of headstock)

Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

Post some pictures.

The B0 one is older than the CLF.

Pulling the necks off is the only true dating method on a G&L but there are other little things that can give a time period.

they started using CLF first in 1998, to current basses. you could take off the neck, it has the dates

B029674 - circa 1997
CLF12040 - circa 1999

Like Jim said, the only way to know for sure is to pop the neck and look at the neck and body dates.
