Changing the L2500 neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Bought a L2500 this year and really love this bass. There is so much right with this instrument I'm just giddy ...

Don't like the neck at all however.

Checked out the G&L website and discovered the #10 is the only neck available for the 5 strings.

Anyone know of a neck that will fit the L2500?

Thanks loads!

Moses makes a graphite neck for the G&L. The same neck fits a MusicMan so I assume the heels are the same.

kinda pricey.

What is it about the neck you don't like?

Some hate strings spacing, radius or thickness at the nut or whatever.... but for myself it took only few hour to be "in my old pants" with this neck ,but, i assume that the USA neck is a bit different than the tribute neck on L2.5k.

Assuming your are talking aout the grith of the neck, which seems to be the biggest complaint with those basses- I think you either have to get lucky and find a used one with a more comfortable profile (they are still sanded to curvature by humans- so there does exist variation from neck to neck), or take it to a good luthier and have them sculpt it... String spacing/nut width though will be pretty consistent.
