Charlotte NC Guitar Show Report - G&L Content

Sign in to disble this ad
The Metrolina Fairgrounds is the new location for the Charlotte Guitar Show.

My criteria for navigation is 2 hours after the gate opens.

Plenty of room to navigate the vendor booths.

Lots of vintage gear: guitars, amps, basses, and parts.

Shot the breeze with the dealers I know from previous purchases. Always good to see them at the shows.

The reps from Antique Electronics AZ were there, and picked up tubes and electronic components, at a show sale price.

Tony was the rep that filled my order.
I informed him that the tube parameters posted on their website, was a great addition, and sure saved looking up the info elsewhere.
He is a bass player, and that lent to a discussion of equipment.
Told him to check out G&L, natch!

Say Darth, Tony is a lefty. What percentage of production are lefties?

If you are not familiar with Antique Electronics, they stock a lot of amp and guitar parts.
Tubes, speakers, pickups, and other parts for amps and guitars.
Fast service.

Only one G&L dealer from Reidsville NC. Said the G&L lineup was a big seller for him.
My local G&L dealer, Concord NC, had a previous commitment, and wasn't at the show.

A great time.

Jamie

Cool pic! That includes three of my favorite axes -- DiPinto Belvedere (gold), SB-2, and L-2000. Only one I don't have is the L-2000. I think that's the dealer from whom I bought my SB-2 last summer at a guitar show in New Jersey. He has great prices.

ASAT

If I hadn't purchased a bass this week,

the ASAT "Gunslinger" was tempting.

Andre',

I was shakin' like Elvis lookin at that ASAT.

'Course I was shakin looking at the prices on vintage stuff.

My first geetar and amp, Teisco, was sellin' for $800.

My newspaper route money bought that...a week or two ago... for $89.95.
