Correct washer size for trussrod fix L-2000

Sign in to disble this ad
Since no one seems to be able to find the right washer size without either filing down ones from the store or special ordering from online- I went down to True Value and found myself the exact washer for this application
Metric M5 SAE flat washer
Outside diameter identical to the diameter of the trussrod nut, inside diameter large enough to slide over the trussrod. No boring no filing. Found it at my general hardware store in the vast aisle of nuts and bolts. Make sure you get the SAE washer- it has a smaller OD than a regular M5 washer. I put on two and its giving me ample adjustment room. Thought I'd share and maybe save the next person some trouble.

Great info, and thanks for helping everyone out.

So that it doesn't get pounded down over time, please post your washer info in the FAQ thread. That way it'll stay at the top for easy access.

While I think all the rods themselves are the same, I think there is variation in bullet width...what year was your bass?

I don't know the exact year of my bass but its probably early 2000's and has a 3 bolt neck joint. sure Jim copy it to the tech page, I'll repost in the FAQ thread too.

edit-- I see the FAQ page is set up as links to good threads, so if its worthy info maybe you could link this to the FAQ Chef or other mod. thanks
