Cool Custom G&L Wait Support Group

Sign in to disble this ad
There seems to be a lot of us waiting for our custom orders to be born, so I thought we needed our own support group away from all of those custom 12-stringer freaks!

Just kidding.

So... What do you have on order, and how long have you been waiting?

Fretless L2.5K
blank ebony board
gunoil tint neck
3-tone sunburst with matching headstock
Flame maple top
Natural wood binding
G&G case upgrade

I've been waiting 7 weeks so far. I've a ways to go.

Cheers,
Chris

SB-2 fretless
- clear blue
- black pickguard
- #6 neck
- unlined ebony board

I've been waiting about 1 week so far (so I have even longer to go). I just know it will get finished 1 week before my summer vacation so I'll have to wait an extra 3 weeks while it's all complete before I can get it.

Greetings from the North,

G&L L2500
- Vintage White
- Matching Headstock
- Rosewood Fingerboard
- Case
- Gig Bag

Ordered Easter weekend 2006. Like most of us, I want it now but I will gladly wait as long as it takes to have it done right.

I had my L-1500 for less than two weeks before it went back for a neck replacement due to a faulty truss rod, so I'm counting myself in. I first received it exactly eight weeks after placing the order. It's Electric Blue with matching 'stock and maple board.

It originally had the #6 neck, but the replacement will be #8, which I hope might afford lower action. (Opinions seem split on this, but the #6 didn't work out, so why not try the #8?) I learned that my DiPinto Belvedere has a 14" radius, and I have no beef with that, so 12" should be fine.

I ordered mine 5/5/06 and found out this Wednesday that it will be another 14 weeks before the music shop (B Street Music in San Mateo,CA) will have it. I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to hurry up and come.

G&L 2500
Swamp Ash body
Rosewood neck
Clear Forest Green finish

I ordered mine L2K on February 4th. They told my dealer that it would be done last week but i'm still waiting.

Clear orange, natural binding, matching headstock, maple board.

i'm also going on vacation in a week so it will probably be a few more weeks before i can get my hands on it, since it will probably come in while i'm away.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about! We need pics when it (finally) arrives. It might induce a little L2K GAS around these parts.

I'll do you one better. I'm highly tempted to get one just like this but with a #8 neck. This was at NAMM then vanished off the face of the earth.

Yeah. My dealer said there were a bunch of ash bodied ones that have been held up. What a bummer

at least we aren't waiting for organs.

I've got word now. My L2k is being shipped on Tuseday after Memorial Day. I can't get over how G and L just let me wait for 4 months with no word until last week. Thats total Bulls#*.MY dealer original said 8 to 12 weeks is a normal wait. I'm up to 16 and it will be 17 by the time it arrives and maybe 18 by the time I recieve it. I'm not even really excited any more. I feel Ive been handled a bit roughly.

I still have no confirmation of my bass even being shipped yet. I feel like I'm waiting for the Red Sox to win the world series all over again. It will be great to get it but then when I do what will I do with all of my anxious energy? Play the bass I guess!

I just got the message that my bass should ship today or tomorrow. they said the hold up was that they were waiting on having the plek machine set up. so hopefully i'll have plekked frets. i've never played anything that has been plekked before so i'm not sure how different it will feel but i've been told it's excellent.

Cool! Can't wait to see pics!

It's also good to get confirmation on the PLEK machine.

Although I don't think it will be of any use on my fretless, it seems like a step in the right direction for G&L.

Cheers,
Chris

I'm officially out of the group.

My L2k. Honey finish on an ash body. Plecked neck with gun oil tint or GOT. BTW. This beast was wired by the factory with a series/single coil/ parallel switch. At least after an 18 week wait, I got something special out of it all.

Did they make the middle switch a 3 way toggle to do that?
