Do all 4 string G&Ls have the same neck pocket size?

title says it all. I need a new neck for an '84 G&L L1k, and I don't want to accidentally get a useless neck.

Also, has anyone here used a Moses graphite replacement neck on a G&L?

Not sure about one that old, but all current ones do.

They do, in theory- apparently the older ones were more handmade, resulting in alot of variation. Worth a try though- you can aways resell the neck again if it doesn't fit right.

So I guess I am going to have to cross my fingers and pray.

Still, it's better than a body with no neck.

You also gotta check whether the neck is six bolt or three bolt, but it doesn't really matter since you can always redrill new holes. In the L1K case I guess all of them would be three bolt anyway?

In theory, they might but the older ones are hit and miss. I loved a neck I had on an old El Toro and tried to put it on an early 90s L1K fretless but the match was pretty off. Up until relatively recently (last 2-4 years, I bleeb) GnL did not use CNC machines, so each neck and pocket were fitted individually....

Then I hope I find a neck with a slightly too large heel that I can sand down and create a good fit. Blah.
