They are hard to find!!!!!! The black plastic molded cases with the G & L logo in the side> Are they still in production? I haven't seen one for a while...

Cool - I have been after one used, and they are few are far between - at least in the corners I've been looking.

I gather one will surface sooner or later!!

Hopefully you can find one that doesn't have its feet caved in. Seems to be a really common problem with that case.

Honestly, they are not very good cases...you can find a much better case that will fit- I think P-bass sized cases generally work (similar body shape as an L-2000, which I think is the "default" shape for the G&L bass cases). The G&L molded cases are fairly weak and have little room inside for accessories- I use an old wooden Carvin case (non-molded) that fits all 3 of my G&Ls pretty snugly, has held up to 17 years of abuse, and can fit all my cords and pedals! One of my G&L cases feet broke in within 2 months of light use...

Ya, those molded cases leave much to be desired.

At least there's no upcharge for them, like what some "other" builders love to do.

To get a decent case from G&L you must upgrade to tolex, right? (ugh)

A third choice would be nice. Like maybe one of those terrific molded cases that used to come with Peavey's upscale USA basses (SKB?). Or at least something form-fitted to the bass, anyway!

The G&L gig bag on the other hand, is very good.

Not having any problems with my G&L molded case. Mine's a 2001 that I have owned for 2 years (2nd owner) But I have seen them with the feet pushed in. Not sure why mine hasn't, it's not like I baby it or anything.

Yeah, the case isn't the most durable, but it's fine as long as your don't trash it around. But the feet problem is something I noticed too. Two of mine fell off, and they were diagnally opposite from eacher other so it's hard to get it to stand upright anymore.

For less money you can get a good soft case or SKB economy model on ebay and make a cardboard stencil G&L logo and paint it on.
