carlos840, I have an L2000 in Lake Placid Blue, the Baby Blue is awesome!
That's a great looking bass, ever thought about another pick-guard color?
Black, maybe a custom color..... or the UNC tar heels logo painted on.......
hmmm... It looks great as is!

Baby blue is listed as a standard finish on the G&L site, so you wouldn't think it would be all that rare. I've seen one or two SB-2s similar to yours on eBay (or maybe the same one listed more than once?). At least one of those had a bound fret board. Can't tell if yours has that feature or not from the photo.

Chef, is that SB-1 really baby blue? Looks more like a mint or faded seafoam green in that pic, but maybe that just comes with age? Wouldn't be the first finish color that's changed over time.

Well...I dunno.
That bass was made in red, white and viking blue origianlly, I think...

But, pull the control cover, and it's the same...ie, paint typically doesnt' fade under the covers.

So, dunno. If it's a refin, it's old, checked and worn. Could be a factory one-off. Seafoam, whatever. I dunno fo-sho.

thanks guys...
Still no baby blue! I know its a standart finish but i never saw another one like mine, maybe no one has the will to be on a stage with a baby blue bass!!!
Mine doesnt have bound fingerboard, and i am thinking about changing the pickguard, maybe a pearl or mirror or something like that, im thinking that if im going to have a bright blue bass i might as well go all the way!
