El Toro

Hi:

I never really played a G&L before, but did so two days ago at a shop. It was an El Toro. I wasn't there to check out basses. Just picked it up by chance. Wow. It was truly amazing, partly because I guess I didn't think I'd be impressed at all.

What's the current price range? I'd really consider buying one that's reasonably priced and well-loved.

Of course, the shop wanted mint money for a well-used bass, so I turn to the TalkBass experts. Where does it fit in the overall scheme of all things G&L? I've only found some info on line so far (made from '83 or '84 to '93; mahogany or ash bodies; was available with a maple fretboard but only late in the run) but that's about it.

Thanks.
