El Toro Got Me In!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello All:
Well I finally get to join the G&L club. I just picked up this 1983 El Toro for a nice price from my friends guitar shop. Even has the original case which is cool. This is one of the passive models which I understand is a little harder to find than the active ones. I LOVE the neck on this bass. If had a bass custom built I would use this neck. Fits my hand a lot better than my Jazz. The tone is amazing as well and is gonna be great for the classic and 80's rock I like to play. Anyway, just thought I would share my new baby with the other G&L fans here on Talk Bass. Take care!

Beautiful bass. You are lucky. I have several G&L's but I've never seen or touched an El Toro.

Thanks - I know G&L's newer stuff but I wasn't really familiar with the El Toro. When I picked it up and played it I immediately knew I had to get it. I did a little research on it first and decided it would probably be a good investment as well. I see a few of the active ones on Ebay and some guitar sites but from what I have read the passive model was only available for a six month period. Whatever the case, when could I ever get and American made G&L for less than half the price of a new one whether it was old or not? Thanks again!
