Electronics help

Help, I have a G&L L2000E and it has had a lot of use. In the picture is the elctronic controls but as you can see it's a mess. I've never seen this type of wiring. I know nothing about it so if anyone can tell me in simple terms where I can find parts to rewire I'd appreciate it. I'[ve been playing for 20+ years and still love to play.

You need to get that to a competent electronics tech. Not just any old guitar tech. Some body has got that all dicked up and a good ET needs to redo it. Schematic is on the G&L support page.

It may be hooked up correct but it is a sloppy, fugly job that should be reworked.

Any tech worth their salt would heat shrink the wires not use electrical tape.

Jim

That actually looks pretty good for G&L.

Here's mine:

A total mess, but it works fine.

Ah yes, the infamous tookay 'spaghetti bowl'.

Part of the G&L charm.

The look on a guitar tech's face the first time he opens up a tookay?......priceless. LOL

Actually , the "spaghetti bowl" thing is over with now that they use a prewired harness. The only drawback is changing a pot is now a lot more work.

Thanks

Thanks for the info, I thought it would be simpler to buy parts froms somewhere like a kit and just replace everything. I'll try to find a reputable place in LA to do the work.
