Here are pics of my El Toros. All have matching headstocks except the blonde which is a NAMM EL Toro (black headstock). I also have a red L-2000 fretless but I couldn't upload another pic.

I hope to own a few more!! Out of all of the basses that I own/haved owned, the El Toro bass does it for me when playing in any situation.

I got your 'hog sister. Mine and yours are the only maple/hogs I have seen.

You know, that's the second misidentification I've made in the last week or so. I think I need to take the bass taxonomy refresher course (or maybe just get some sleep).

'Twas an SB-2 of the early variety. Beautiful bass though.

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up (and SB-2 lovers, take note!).

I'll bet they do. Never played one myself.

There was a time I was thinking of picking up a Tribute JB-2 as a backup because it's a nice bass for the price. But after thinking about it, I'd rather have MFDs in the JJ config anyway. So that one there is awful tempting ...

Not sure what some people think "mint" means though. The bass in question has a very good finish for a 25 year old bass, sure. But to me, mint means it's one some kid bought new that got stuck away in the closet after the 3rd failed lesson or something.

The JJ loaded early SB2 if very, very different from the current JJ JB2.
Wider neck, slab body, and what I think are much better pickups.
