Fretless G&L and dead spots?

Sign in to disble this ad
I really need to get a new fretless. I've been considering a G&L primarily because I can get a 1 3/4" nut on a passive jazz style bass without swapping out an aftermarket neck. I'm currently considering either a SB2 or JB2.

On to the question. How are the necks on fretless G&L basses? I can't stand dramatic dead spots. No fretless G&L's within easy driving distance of me (that I know of), so I can't just run out and try one out. I've also find dead spots much more noticeable on fretless basses than their fretted counterparts, so I'm looking for someone with fretless G&L experience.
