Fretless Tributes

Has GL ever made a Tribby fretless? If they offered that as an option would you buy one? Since Squire started making the Vintage Models that mimics Jaco's Jazz bass and selling it a rediculously low price one would think that if GL made an L2000 or JB or SB people would buy em, no?

It would probably be too big a risk...plus a fretless tends to require a little more intensive/exacting setup than they probably want to do on such a cheap bass (at least to sound good).

Fender is the only company with an "import" line of basses that I could see selling alot of fretless basses- simply because of Jaco and his notoriety- I bet they don't even sell that many of 'em in the end, as the market for a "cheap" fretless has gotta be pretty small (even if the quality control is alot better than you would expect)...hell, fretless players in general are such a small chunk of bass players. I could be wrong though- everyone probably tries a fretless at some point, and it would be natural to look for something that cheap to start with if someone really wanted to actually buy one...

Yeah- that would be a true Jaco Tribute!
