G&L 2000 - Fullerton

There is a guy here locally trying to sell a '91 G&L 2000 for $500. It has the original hardshell case. Finish is sunburst. Assuming it's in good shape, is this a fair price to pay him?

I picked the 2000 this afternoon. I am amazed the guy was not a bass player. He had bought it in 91 with intention of learning bass. He messed with it for a couple of years and then put it away. It is in immaculate condition. Definitely a steal.

Dang ... stoopid cheap is right. Glad I didn't stumble on this or I'd have some explaining to do to my wife.

+1 on the pics. It's the least you can do to share your good fortune with the rest of us.

I had been looking at G&L for sometime. I have been using my Jazz primarily in the blues band that I play with. The jazz just seems to be missing something on the D & G strings (passive bass). I am hoping the G&L will help cure that problem with it's active electronics. Since working with it a couple of days I am still able to get an old school tone with tons more flexibility. What do you think would be the best strings for this puppy?
