G&L BABP LE L-2000 I really love the way this looks, despite the color and the neck, Do you know if there is a significative difference in the sound this bass produce and the L2000, althougt this bass isa colection piece I want it to be my playing bass. Any comments will be appreciated, I need to take a desicion before noon today, you can find the bass in the clasiffied

I own one of the BABP LEs and its a pretty nice bass -- I think better built than you might get on a normal order and its definitely special -- I get a lot of comments on this bass. The blackburst finish, painted headstock, and no-dot ebony board give it a killer look.

I've been gigging with mine and its a very versatile bass. The additional setting for single coil mode provides a really nice open sound that really knifes thru the mix. I've tried a few sets of strings on this bass and I'm currently sticking with the TI SuperAlloys because of their depth & grind. I don't think normal L-2000's come with single coil unless its a special order.

I'm going to try it in the studio later this week. Last record I did with this producer, I played my vintage L-2000e and he loved it -- we'll see how this one compares by then.

Finally, if you get the LE and decide you don't want to keep it, there will always be a market for it.

Which I guess also means you should keep the case candy pristene like the previous owner did. Makes the package a more attractive sale.

But, I'm really enjoying mine...I've started taking it to gigs where the SB-2 or RIC used to go. More versatile than my RIC 4003.

Play it! If you don't have a gig let a good friend play it out for you.

Ummm there is a window open to get a L2500 in the same finish with the same switching but no ebony boards.

I am the proud owner of #3 of 23. The one thing I like most about it is the single coil option! I have 6 L2000s and this has grown to be my fav.
