Guys
Can anyone tell me if someone has modded the wiring on this pup. Reads 10.03 ohms on the meter but I always thought these were 4 conductor wiring but as you can see only 2 out ?

No pics handy but the wiring is jacked up. It should have four wires, green, yellow, white, and black coming out.

The white and green are soldered to the copper plate, should they just be unsoldered there and appropriate lead length added

That makes no sense at all to me. It's like wiring it permanently in parallel.

Normally, the green wire is hard-grounded and the white wire goes to the pickup selector switch. The black and yellow are used for series/parallel switching.

The only thing I can think of is that someone is trying to duplicate what EBMM does with their Stingray humbuckers, which is do the parallel wiring on the pickup and only bring out a pair of wires. No matter that it can be done in the control cavity.

Sheesh!

If they can be desoldered from the plate without any damage, then yes. Just add 24ga wire as necessary, and do try to maintain color coding. I don't recommend attempting to remove the pickup covers because they're pressed into place.

This was probably done to quiet down a noise problem. You might want to keep the green wire soldered there and just ground it. The green wire gets permanently grounded anyway in the stock wiring.
