g&l bass pre amp????

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys, first post and new to the forum. great site btw!
got a couple questions for the pro's

i recently picked up a beater of a musician (1983 ibanez mc924) beater is an understatement the batt leaked acid , theres rust, pitting, the polar white paint turned urine yellow and the list goes on.
the bass does have some perks. the original bridge has been replaced with a kalher bridge. the neck (neck through body) is straight as an arrow, and the action is fantastic! ebony fret board, killa wood hiding under the tacky 80's paint.
with the $30 invested, i made out like a bandit.
when it comes to elelctronics i have little to no experiance, how ever somethings not right.
the original electronics have been replaced with a g&l pre amp. its hooked up to 3 500k pots and a 2 way toggle switch.
(the bass originally has 6 pots and a toggle3 500k and 3 20k.

i need your help guys. first i need to know what type of amp this is? and second, how do i correctly wire the system (3 pots and a 2 way toggle) anybody have a wiring diagram for this amp? am i missing an eq?
like i said, i'm a novice when it comes to wiring guitars. i can follow a wiring scematic, but have no real understanding of the electronics used.
help!

If you go to http://www.glguitars.com/frameset.htm and click on the support link, you can scroll down and under Technical Schematics and Wiring Diagrams, click the "click here". I f you pick the current version of the L2000, ASAT schematic, you will see that they both use the LF441 preamp. I'd bet that this is what you have. Unfortunately the schematic is incomplete and I "think" you have to use the older version schematic to figure out how the pots/switches are hooked up. Their pot values are also different so the you got this from may have kept the pots from the Ibanez.
