I have been looking around the net - and seem to get varying info about the L-1000 specs - and I just got one that is kinda interesting. The serial number dates it to 1992 - the last year. The body is ash , finished in trans red - and has a late 1991 date stamp. The neck has a maple fretboard - and an early 1993 date stamp ??? The bridge is all chrome . If production stopped in mid 1992 - maybe it was a "factory parts bass" ??? put together in 1993 ?

Probably some stuff that was laying around and assembled in '93..after BBE took over.

I have a late L1000 that has a body date of April '91, and a neck date of November '91.

edit; As far as the varying specs, the L1000 went through some changes from it's date of birth. Thats why you will see diff specs.
