G&L L2000 Spotting

I guess y'all will have to wait to 5/24 to confirm this, but at the VH1 Rock Honors which is taping in Las Vegas tonight (5/12/07) at the Mandalay Bay, Heart bassist Ric Markmann has been playing his 2 black L2K's. And of course it sounds huge!

Reason I know is that I'm working the show for VH1 and spend most of the night in the backstage / production space and get to see the gear go by firsthand.

I was meaning to post a question about what equipment he uses! I just heard this live version of "Barracuda" on one of their greatest hits albums and his bass was growling like crazy- kinda like my L2000 does!

As I sit here doing some work on the 'puter, I hear Heart performing Barracuda on the tv in the office. I glance up, and unless I am mistaken, the bassist is playing an Ibanez looking thing. I don't see any G&L's.

Okaaaayyyy...Now they are performing Straight On and he is playing a black L2K.

Now that I have gotten home and watched the replay that was Alice in Chains with Gretchen Wilson doing Barracuda. My bad..the tv at the office is a long way from my desk.

Working on-site for VH1 for their big "tent-pole" shows, one of my favourite things to do is hang out backstage during rehearsals and check out all of the gear as they have everything on rolling racks or stages. I always check out the bass gear first and felt a certain level of G&L pride when I saw Markmann's 2 black beauties.
