Can I replace the pups in my Fender PJ Aerodyne with MFDs like the set up in an SB2?

I guess you could, but i am positive you would need to do some routing for the J pickup. I had a Japanese non-export Aerodyne with the pickguard and put a Dimarzio P+J noiseless set in it, they fit perfectly.

I don't have the Aerodyne anymore but I do have 2 SB-2's. The Aerodyne was a great bass which in the end annoyed me for 2 primary reasons; a) the general tone was kind of a "bwang" type sound. I attribute it to the basswood body as different pickups and strings had no real effect. b) the bound edge on the body would cut into my right forearm. After many hours of play it was very annoying.

If you want a kick butt P+J, get an SB-2. I like mine with a tone pot added.

Yeah. I'm waiting to get the nerve to sell my L2k before I purchase another bass.
