Some pics of a 2007 Green Shparkle I just picked up. Seller modded the controls to V/V/T and relocated the jack to the side. Well done and I like the set-up. I think it is a #6 neck. It is thicker front to back than any #8 I've had.
Sounds and plays terrific. I like the new G&L necks too. I have zero confidence in the older G&L necks, from experience, and YMMV, IMHO and all that. It has a glued on fretboard as opposed to the earlier one piece necks. Satin finish on this one.
Like I stated I like this bass. Anybody think of an alternative color pickguard that won't induce nausea?

| Unless things have changed, no one makes a gold ano for the SB. I searched everywhere a couple years ago.
I found one custom maker who quoted me $250 to build one from scratch. (I forget the name)
Needless to say, I had to pass. (sigh) |

| How about a nice cream one from Chandler?
That white one does'nt look quite right with that finish, for some reason. |

I think a creme or mint pickguard would work well enough. |

OK, two votes for pearloid. |

Perloid pickguard vote too.

Yep something in between the contrast of the maple and the green colors.
But that just me...Just can't stand plain white guards period unless its white on white

I'm still leaning toward mint. Somebody send me a pearloid to see if I like it. |

If not, then cream unless you can find exactly the right mint. The greens are going to be tough to match I think.
Or - go clear and do a foil job around the routes for masking.
Or - use clear and spray a few thin coats of gold, then a coat of black on the reverse side ...
Actually the white isn't so awful ...
