G&L sighting

Watching "The Concert for Diana" I noticed one of the bass players was using a gold sparkle G&L ASAT 5 string.
Sounded great and looked awesome. Anybody know who the player was? He was good.

Another sighting ...... Heart played at the Naperville IL ribfest last night (big event in suburban Chicago).
The bassist was playing an L2K ....
They sounded great, the Wilson sisters still got excellent pipes and their material holds up.
They also covered Petty, Who, and Zeppelin tunes.

I too was impressed by the nice bass sound and playing by the house band bass player. I found out he is London session player Trevor Barry. Here is the house band lineup:

Ian Thomas - Drums
Trevor Barry - Bass
Jody Linscott - Percussion
Dominic Miller - Guitar
John Parricelli - Guitar
Pete Murray - Keyboards
Claudia Fontaine - Backing Vocals
Beverlei Brown - Backing Vocals
Margo Buchanan - Backing Vocals
Steve Sidwell - Trumpet
Chris White - Sax
Jamie Talbot - Sax

local sighting...

I watched the Houston July 4th Festival on the tube and looked to me like the bassist for Montgomery Gentry was playing a butterscotch-colored L2K as well. Im not a fan but I kept watching to try to get a better look at his bass. Cool.

5-string neck-through ASAT?

So out of curiousity I tracked down the Greg Lake website and looked at some of the Trevor Barry pics. It looks like one of his 5-string ASATs is a neck-through...

That's not the guy or the bass at the concert in question.

more locals spotted..

Went to open mic blues jam Thursday nite, the house band guy had an old G&L single pup, did not get a good look at it, when I asked him offstage what it was, he said he did not know, hmm. I got up next with my L2500, burst with matching headstock, had to say it. Then the next bassist got up and he had a L2K. Cool, we were in GnL Hell! I played mine in passive, the L2K sounded like he had the treble boost on his, did not stick around to ask, had to roll out. But they all sounded good, soundman was generous with the FOH bass mix, rare. Im spotting more G&L's out there, always a plus.
