What does G&L use as factory strings on their basses , or what would be the closet brand to type and size , say on a L2000????

SIT nickel rounds are the factory string, in medium guage.
I like them well enough, but have been using DA XL170's lately.

Any string set .045-.105 will drop right in.

If they are long enough. If you get the D'addario's you'll need the super long set if you plan on stringing through the body.

True for the 2500, but I haven't seen a L-2000 with STB yet?

Good point on the 2500 though. I only have an L5K for a 5ver.

Doh! you are correct. I automatically asumed that the L2000 were string through body also.

Thanks , I found it on the FAQ(G&L site) after posting, like usual.

Thanks for the replies , honestly I like nickle rounds the best and around here EB's are the cheapest without going GC brand so that's what I have been using lately.

OR, Fender strings.

A store here has started selling DR's for around $20 a set out the door. They have dropped about $6.00 a set here so,?????? who knows .

I am a string whore at times.

I love my DR Lo-Riders on my SB-2. I think I'm using Sunbeams with my ASAT. Both are warm & thick without muddiness.

DR Black Beauties are the best I've tried on the L2500- killer full-range sound without being too bright or muddy at all. The most growl I've ever had on a bass!

I was wandering how you all felt about the Dean Makley's? I haven't tried those with my L2000 yet. What do you all think about those?
