G&L Tribute 1-5/8"??

Sign in to disble this ad
I took a measurement of my neck width at the nut of my Tribby L2000........and came out with more or less 1-5/8"

I thought Tribbies supposedly had 1.75"? I've never bothered handling another bass with that neck size, so I hadn't been able to tell. Anyone else encounter this phenomenon?

Phenomenon? It just sounds funny.

The neck width on my 1980 L-1000 is 1 11/16" and that's pretty wide. Another 1/16" wouldn't be a deal breaker, really, but I'd be happy if I had a 1 5/8" width, honestly. Why are you concerned?

I'm not concerned, I'm just curious. For my part, I'm happy with my neck.

I gather it is not a tribute made for the Japanese market (that would more or less explain things as they can get tributes with 1 1/2" necks)
