What kind of strings should I put on my tribute L2500 to get a nice tone,I know it's usually something personal but maybe there are some strings most of you would recommend?

thanks in advance

Somebody else might feel completely opposite and we'd both be right. |

Yeah,I know, you're right, string choice is personal but it's just a matter of "will they fit on the bass" thing, you know ,threw the body for the lenght and I heard that some B string won't fit in the hole(to big).
I've used Dean Markley's Blue steel for years,do you know if they will fit?

I get mine from Tom Appel at www.bassguitarstrings.us TI SA's are a little less zingy and have more body, or maybe booty than most rounds. They settle in pretty quickly and last a long time. My fav round of all.
Another string that seems to like MFD's are the DR Black Beauties. I'm hot 'n cold with DR's though. I've had a few that were just plain dead out of the box. These days I pretty much stick with Thomastic.

and for shure the strings choice is personal and it's important to enjoy playing a kind or another and to listen and find the sound you want for kinda stuff you play

Larry | So the Sunbeams will string thru the body on the 2500?

The difference is, the Lo-Riders have a hex core and are stiffer. According to DR, they are better for slapping. Whereas the sunbeams, have a round core and are more flexible. They are both nickel.

As my visual acuity doesn't allow me to observe "proper technique" I exchanged a couple emails with Ed Freedland and asked him to give me a text discription of technique . He respondedd rather promptly (Still Out To Lunch.(
Much, much more practice.
So next string change, going back to the Sunbeams on my MIA L2500. There a bit more comfortable and I like to bend a little when possible.

I love boomers and use them on my other bass, and I realize I could string through the bridge, but after reading a few "my bridge popped off due to string tension" threads on the G&L forum here I decided to go in a different direction.

Why were the ferrules made so small? What kind of string ends will fit properly? |
