Has anyone seen this bass?

Hello everyone.

I have set my mind on getting myself a G&L L-2000, but can't find the color/wood combination that I want.

Blueburst with natural wood binding and maple fingerboard on maple (preferably #8) neck. I have seen this combination on a bunch of L-2500's, but never on an L2K.

If such a bass doesn't exist, is it possible to order one with these specifications?

That's a pretty straight forward order. I would think they could do that with no problem. If you order and if you want the burst to be on the back also you must specify that. Otherwise, I believe the back will be black. Just contact your favorite dealer.

I didn't know that it was possible to place an order from a dealer. That would be more expensive than just going out and buying one from GuitarCenter for about $1,300, right? Has anyone else had a similar ordering experience?

Try Matt at Guitar Man (guitarmannyc.com).

The only upgrade you're really looking at is the binding, so I wouldn't expect too ridiculous a quote, even on a special order. You might be pleasantly surprised what a custom order would set you back.

There was a used one just like this about 1.5 years ago used at the GC in Concord, CA. Standard width neck, though. Blueburst, wood binding, mable board... Doubt it's still there, but you never know. I think they wanted a little under $900 for it.
