?? Have you always played bass?

Maybe it was my ultimate destiny. I should have gone here 20 years ago, but instead played the backbeat in jazz, blues, and rock to some incredible bassists over 35 years of music. I always admired highly proficient bassists and found locking into a groove the pinnacle of music as a rhythm player. It wasn't until 10 years ago, I finally decided to also play bass. It is making my music reincarnation the most satasfying ever.

How bout the rest of you? How did you arrive at the bass?

Nope, I started on trombone in the school band at the age of 9. This was the 60's by the way. I always loved the bass part in rock and jazz music. Rain and Paperback writer by the Beatles blew me away because of the heavy bass in the mix.
I played Trombone proffesionally for awhile but after awhile the gigs got kind of thin, When I was 25 I decided to pick up bass as a second instrument. I'm 51 now and have been doing steady weekend gigs on bass ever since. I do still have a trombone somewhere in my house collecting dust.

Almost. I played Cornet in elementary school and middle school. Then one day a guy brought to music class a Ampeg SVT with a Fender Jazz, that was it for me. Never looked back.
