Hey yall...

My first bass, I got a G&L Tribute L2000 Swamp Ash, rosewood fretboard, made in indonesia. I paid around 600 bucks but I see that AMS has now raised their prices to almost 700 bucks. I think it is worth more!!...LOL!

My first amp was the Line 6 Lowdown Studio 110. It has been great for practice an learning. Plus it's very portable. It's like a cube.

OK, well I finally decided to upgrade my amp. I just now ordered a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 with the 1x12 cab. Can't wait to get it. I have heard a lot of great things about this amp. The online demo by Ed Friedland sold me on it. The irony is that it was a Ed Friedland online demo that also sold me on the L2000.

How did I do?

Notice I felt no inclination to upgrade my bass. Perhaps my next bass will be a Tibby L2500, or a Bongo 5 string??

Beyond that, it's maybe a few effects, and a better cab. Was thinking about a Dr. Bass custom built cab since I live near Myrtle Beach where the Dr Bass guy lives. I have seen his band live and he is one helluva bassist. How would one of these go with my Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0??

anyway, I'm a proud G&L owner. Anyone else here own the Genz Benz Shuttle? Would love to hear your feedback.

One final question, you guys know of any great instructional DVD's, books, etc for beginner to intermediate bassist?

Great choices! The L2K will serve you well for years. Likewise for the shuttle.

I have the USA L2K and the Shuttle 3.0-10T combo. I didn't get it's bigg brother because of a $400 difference and felt the 3.0 would suit the situations I do now. I haven't been disappointed. The 10in speaker even handles my L2500 just fine. Obviously,in larger venues, the bigger combo would be more sufficient.

My main amp at church is the Genz ML200-210T. However, I have used the little Shuttle twice for special occasions in a room that seats about 400. It held it's own in settings that were a bit laid back.

I have a Tribby L2000 and the Shuttle 3.0-10T. They sound wonderful together. My Cirrus 5 shows no weakness that I could detect with the B string on the little Shuttle. Nice, light...and LOUD combo. I also have the 10T extension cabinet which makes a HUGE difference...just like adding my second GS112 did...the sum is greater than the parts.

Good luck and lots o' G&L love to you!

Kim

As soon as the Shuttle gets here I'll post a pic of it with the L2000. I can't wait!
