Are you sure the BT-2 will fit? If you look at a picture of both next to each other, the holes on one side appear to be farther apart on the BT-2 than the BT-1. The only obvious cosmetic difference I can see is that the back plate for the BT-1 is a 6-sided shape, and the BT-2 is a 4-sided shape. The difference is more obvious if you look at pictures of the normal non-detuner versions of each.

I ordered a BT-1 for my L2000 tribute and it is not an exact fit. I have attached a drawing showing the difference I encountered.

The hole locations are too close to cover with the BT-1, so I had to fill them with wood-glue and tooth picks, before i could insert the new screw.

Works like a charm now though.

Cheers,
Ben

No problems mate. Another thing. The hipshot base plate hits the base plate for the A string tuner. I had to grind about 2mm off the end of the A string tuner base plate at the side closest to the E string tuner.

I hope that makes sense.

Cheers,
Ben

I put a bt-1 on my tribute L2000. The screw holes did not line up, but the knob looks better than it did on my SX. I think the knob on the bt-2 would be too big for the trib.

Maybe the plates are different between the US and tribute models.
